Qns:
| Choose One: 1. An old uncle was heard exclaiming ' Aiyoh! In peak hour crowds, it's easier getting in than getting out of the MRT train cabins. Everyone just wants to get into the cabin and rush for seat, so I can't even find a seat. ' This old man echoes only one of the many typical & daily encounters of a MRT passenger. How is it possible to improve the experiences of using the MRT during peak rush hours? 2. What would your desired 3rd meeting be like? |
Ans:
| I am not quite sure if I am able to interpret the first question easily. Therefore I am going for the second question, since there’s an option. My desired 3rd meeting will be to be stay active/awake and not getting distracted by computer games. Currently, it may be because many students in class are also distracted by the computers and not concentrating in the presentation. It may seems impossible to stay awake/focus for long during long presentation. I personally felt that during the first, two presentations were still fine with me, but when it goes on, I was drowned by the words/the way that they speak. I think that many people are staying awake by the usage of computer (well this only speaks well for introvert students). I am not too sure about the rest who were laughing away using their computers. But I am just going to speak for myself. I don’t think that multi tasking is good. I am still wondering what is the alternative beside playing games and getting more distracted rather then focusing. As for how to get the class active participation will be either we as presenter try to think of some jokes to keep the crowd entertain or to find maybe some clips to get the crowd’s attention beside shouting to get their attention. That’s all for what I could think of. |

Qns: Recall a tough choice that you'd to make: Why was it difficult and how did you decide?
Ans:
A tough choice to make was to keep quiet and not
informing the facilitator about the problem that I
faced. I could choose to make lots of noise or to choose
to keep quiet. But somehow, today I wasn’t able to
understand or grasp the topic as well as I have
expected. I was already have been concentrating a lot.
But I was still at a lost.
I cannot believe that I was still lost after lunch time.
But I am quite sure that whatever I have written do not
make any sense since it is not link to what I have
learnt. I have once made a very tough choice when buying
my laptop. I was pondering over Fujitsu laptop and Acer
Laptop. Both brands have good quality. At that point of
time, my only concern was the style.
My purpose was that the laptop stylish and have large
memory space. Then I evaluate on both brands and then I
came to a conclusion.
I thought that Fujitsu’s laptop was stylish and very
cool looking as it is pink in colour. All girls’
favourite. But when I look at its’ memory space, it was
quite little compared to Acer. Acer’s laptop is also
stylish but I do not really like the colour. But when I
evaluate on the memory space, I think Acer laptop is
better. Therefore I came to the conclusion that I should
buy Acer laptop.

Qns: Choose ONE: 1. Reflect & analyze: how did we fare as a team today? 2. Analyze & understand 'Who and what I am today'...
Ans:
I would do the first question. I think we fared quite well. We were able to complete our worksheet in record time and to complete our PDT in record timing too. I was surprised that everyone was so concentrating on the PDT and worksheet. I think we were able to delegate our task evenly.
I was handling question 4 of the worksheet. It wasn’t easy to do as I couldn’t see the link to the problem statement. I am thankful that my team members were supportive and help me out with my worksheet by telling me to do my best which I did. I tried to use my knowledge on enterprise as we learnt MBTI in enterprise. I managed to complete the worksheet although I am not quite sure if it is correct. I was able to figure out what was going on in class except during the presentation.
I really tried very hard not to use my computer, but I couldn’t stay awake. I almost have fallen asleep. I tried eating sweets and chewing chewing gums... but all these doesn’t seem to work. =.=” Will be trying another method next week. And I would say, playing game is definitely out. I am really trying hard and I am going to try harder.

Qns: What are the considerations for 'Quality Effort & Response' to a day's problem?
Ans:
The considerations for quality effort and response to a day’s problem will depend on how one’s perception.
For one’s perception of things is that just giving ideas, any random ideas is actually contributing and responding, while for some their benchmark is actually do be able to come out with good ideas and responses and lastly of course to be able to come out with a good presentation. Different people have different perception on how things are to be done, people also have different bench mark. This bench mark is not referring to the ISO9001 or whatsoever. For example, one man’s needs may be one man’s poison. It all depends on the person needs and wants. For myself, I may not think that there is a need to have ISO9001, while some may think that it is important to have ISO9001.
Let me give you a situation, I am just an average person. I think that whether I get the ISO9001 award a not is not important. I think so long my customer keep coming back is the most important thing. I think that if I get ISO9001, it is definitely a bonus. There are quite a number of people thinks otherwise. They feel that when one get ISO9001 award, it is like a confirmation of how good their food/product is. They will raise the price of their products. This resulted a loss, as customers felt that it is expensive or the product that they are getting isn’t what they have expected or the cost of the product is not within their grasp.
In conclusion, for me personally, if one has put in the effort to give their best, I will believe them as this will give them that I trust them. People among people need to be able to trust one another or else there nothing will be worth doing. Life will not be worth living as you have to guess if this claim is true or if this person is lying or whatsoever. It is a tiring job and you will find that life is tiring.

Qns: Comment on these arguments: 1.Smoking is bad for health. Those who smoke are likely to develop health problems. So bad health is caused by smoking. 2.H1N1 is now a panademic. A panademic is widespread all over the world. Many people will succumb to it and those who don't survive it will die. It'll wipe out humankind and the world will come to an end. 3. The Principal says that staying at home will contain the spread of virus. The principal is right. We should all stay home until the viral attack is over.
Ans:
For the first question, it is beating around the bush. It did not go straight to the point. This result that the audience find it no conclusion as it only have the starting and linking but no justification nor clear explanation on what they exactly want to convey to the audience.
For the second question, there is no justification on how H1N1 will kill people which will lead to the wipe out of humankind. It only give an argument statement by saying that H1N1 is panademic, and that it will wipe out humankind and the world will come to an end. It doesn’t seem to explain how.
For the third question, it has stated its point, justify it and come to a satisfying conclusion. The message that they want to convey to the audience is clear and easy to be understood.

Qns: Examine the Claim (choose 1): 1.'RP students unlike JC students are street smart rather than study smart'. 2. '1st Meeting is important for learning.'
Ans:
RP students unlike JC students are street smart rather than study smart. This is not totally true.
RP students may street smart, they definitely have the ability to excel in the area of expertise. RP students have achieve great acheivements within a short span of time. For example, Engineering students won gold medal in Singapore Flying Machine Competition, STA/DTA - NAC Georgette Chen Arts Scholarship recipients 2008 having 3 recipents. This competitions and recipents have brought us proud and glory. Therefore the claim that RP students are rather street smart than study smart have not much claim although, they could use the fact that many RP student dressed very nicely or dressed very appropraitely for everyday's lesson, this cannot prove that JC students are street smart rather than study smart. Therefore RP students are actually both street smart and study smart.

Qns: Name 4 other persons who you haven't but would like to team up with. Why would you like to work with them?
Ans:
I would like to team up with Yilin, Sheikh, Alina and Jia Xin. I have not yet work with them before. I believe in working in a different environment or friends so that I can learn different approach to teach or different approach on how one need to handle things. Therefore I hope to work with them in this module.

Qns: Choose ONE and Reflect 1. Is education a privilege, choice or just a mere phase in life? 2. Do we really become educated through schooling?
Ans:
I chose number 2 as my reflection journal. I do not think that through schooling that one could be educated. This is because, one could learn specialised skills in other place, and one could behave like what an educated would behave. These people may not have the certification or qualification but at least they have the skills that is needed to survive and to do things that they like. People who have qualification/certification, they may not have the respect that is expected from them. Therefore to say educated, I must say that one must have respect and be willing to like give up seats for the needy people, if they do not nurture their character through schooling, then I think that they have wasted their time schooling.

Qns: 'Knowing. Understanding. Realizing.' Which describes me most of the time? Why?
Ans:
I think, understanding describes me most of the time. This is because by understanding, I will be able get what was going on to my classmates. For example, when my team mates are sad or angry, I will try to understand them and when I understand them, I will be able to use their love language to speak with them. Therefore allowing us to have a better understanding with one another. I felt that when we have understand one another well enough, we will be able to do things faster. Rather than making the matters worse. When we have mutual understanding, we will be able to do things quickly. Therefore understanding is the most important.

Qns: Reflecting on my experience today...
Ans:
Verifying: to prove that something is true or to check whether or not something is true by examination, investigation, or comparison.
If I use today’s question even though that is not the main issue anymore, I felt that it is still confusing. I understand what you are trying to say during the first meeting. According to my understanding, I felt that it is to find the right way to tell Alex the pros and cons between microwave and home-cooked food. Therefore when I was pointed wrong, I was surprised that my understanding was wrong since I thought that verifying is to prove that something is true or to check whether something is true by examination, investigation, or comparison.
I know that it was my fault for not clarifying but keep it within myself. If I had clarified during the meeting itself, I think it would have minimize the mistakes that is made. I had not paid much attention during the study period as the roles and about who to do which questions so on and so forth was not properly distributed. This time round, as I decided to let someone to take on the role of a leader, therefore I can see that he was unable to distribute the job properly.
I hope I will be able to take more initiative in helping all my leader to be more focus in distribution of roles and jobs. I felt that if today’s problem statement could be more clear, I think there will be less misunderstanding. I had tried to used my 2nd study break to put myself in the idea of an working adult. I thought I was to do the pros and cons and give my own personal opinion to Alex. It seems that it was proven wrong as there was many questions that was raised during the QA session. Therefore relying on my prior knowledge is not enough. I felt that I wasn’t clear in understanding the primary secondary source.
It was after the 6P, I understand that primary source is originated from the speaker and the secondary source is originated from the person who interviews the speaker. This makes me understand that it is important to know where the source that was found is originated. This is because if the source is by the secondary source, it might mean that the person who wrote it can be biased or twist the words of the speaker. But if the source is originated by the speaker which is the primary source, there will not be a twist of words but definitely there will be a chance that the source may be very biased.
I felt that my team can be more communicative and that during the next lesson, I should put down my screen and ignore everything that is on my laptop to be concentrating on the problem statement. The team was not as productive as the week before due to the internet breakdown. I hope that next time, my team mates and I will learn not to rely on the internet so much and to refer to other sources as resource such as books in the library, talking with friends who have ideas and of course is the facilitators. This will help me and my team mates to be less reliant to internet.
I felt that today’s lesson isn’t as productive as I thought. This is because I am still not fully understand why I need to study cognitive. That is just the partial reason. The next part of the reason is that the problem statement is too confusing. I hope that next time I will be focus on what the problem statement want to answering “half-half”.

Qns: Reflect on 3 aspects acquired from today's lesson ...
Ans:
Firstly, I learn that it is important for us to have communication skill between one another. I find that when my team mates do not share their finding, it will takes the team very long to research.
When I decided to share my finding, my team mates got more open and therefore shared with me. When my team mates are open, we are able to research faster and not repeated research of things that another have research.
Secondly, it is important for me to be open minded. This is because when I am not open mind, I will cause the whole team to be not in focus and thus resulting that the team will be in quarrel. Therefore when I decided to remain open-mind, I was able to absorb what other people trying to explain, and then my team was able to solve the question.
Lastly, I believe that I have to learn to be more focus. When I am more focus, I was able to complete things in half-time. When my team mates questions, I will be able to answer them or clarify if I am focusing. Therefore I must discipline myself to stay focus during lesson, study period and during group presentation. I believe that when I improve in these area, I will be able to do better in class.
